Sydney has her Bachelors of Kinesiology - Athletic Therapy from the University of Manitoba and has completed the Performance Enhancement Specialization certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Sydney’s knowledge of sports is vast and is due to being a multi-sport, competitive athlete throughout her entire life. She understands the stresses the body takes when it comes to competing at high levels and the demand that sports entail.

Sydney has experience working with all age groups at varying athletic skill levels from sedentary to beginners to Junior and University levels. She is currently an Assistant Athletic Therapist for the Carleton Raven’s Football Team, an Athletic Therapist for the Carleton Raven’s Women’s Hockey Team, and has worked with Rugby Canada and Volleyball Canada programs as well.

Her specialization of Performance Enhancement allows her to create strength programs while rehabilitating injuries and altering strength programs to accommodate injuries.

Lisa graduated from Kine Concept Institute in 2005. She has worked with a multitude of different athletes, both amateur and professional, throughout her 20 years as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Having been involved or surrounded by competitive sports her whole life, Lisa was a competitive dancer and horseback rider. So early on, she understood the benefits that come with Massage Therapy. This is where her early interest started in choosing to become a RMT. Now, Lisa spends more of her free time with her kids sports.

Deep tissue, sports massage/injury, K-taping, trigger point release, acupuncture, scar tissue/myofascial treatment, lymphatic drainage, remedial exercises and stretching are some of the modalities Lisa can offer.

Andrew has a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa. Andrew is currently pursuing a diploma in sports physiotherapy from Sports Physiotherapy Canada. He has also spent 4 years working and training in Australia as a Physiotherapist.

Andrew uses a manual therapy based approach supported by western acupuncture and dry needling. He combines his clinical assessment and diagnostic skills as a physiotherapist with his skillset in addressing biomechanical movement dysfunctions to optimize performance and functional movement. Andrew also has extensive experience working with mild traumatic brain injuries (Concussions)

Andrew has had a lifetime involvement in sports and athletics and has worked extensively with athletes of all levels participating in a variety of sports. He has provided support to a number of athletes and teams in Canada and Australia, most recently as a therapist / on-ice trainer for the Carleton Place Canadian’s Junior A CJHL Hockey Team.

Melissa is a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Kinesiologist who works with active individuals and athletes of all levels to recover from injury and perform at their best.

She brings extensive experience in high performance sport, including nine years with Team Canada Men’s Volleyball as Medical Coordinator and Lead Therapist. During that time, she supported athletes across all levels of National Team programming and at international competitions including Volleyball Nations League, FIVB World Championships, and the Tokyo Olympic Games. Her experience also includes youth hockey, varsity rugby, and Major Series Lacrosse, as well as working with athletes in sports ranging from soccer and water polo to ballet.

In the clinic, she takes a hands-on, individualized approach, using techniques like muscle energy, craniosacral therapy, joint mobilization, mobility work, and exercise prescription. She commonly works with conditions such as neck and low back pain, shoulder and knee injuries, ankle sprains, and shin splints. Maple graduated from McGill University with a degree in Sciences and completed her Massage Therapy certification in 2001. Her passion for the profession led her to an extensive teaching career in massage therapy, spanning over 14 years. During this time, she also gained hands-on experience working with various sports teams, specializing in Deep Tissue Sports Massage, Myofascial Release, and Craniosacral Therapy.

After the birth of her daughter, Maple pursued advanced training in Paediatric Craniosacral Therapy and Concussion Management. She continues to share her expertise as a teaching assistant for the Upledger Institute, where she supports the training of other practitioners in Craniosacral Therapy.

Harry graduated from Deakin University (Melbourne, Australia) with a Bachelor’s Degree of Exercise and Sport Science (Strength & Conditioning Major), before completing his Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney (Sydney, Australia) in 2022.

Working in both Australia and Canada, Harry utilizes the skills he learned in both countries, and focuses on a combination of evidence-based treatments including manual therapy and exercise to assist patients with returning to their everyday lives, functional goals and sporting aspirations.

BSC HK, PT Kurt graduated with a degree in Human Kinetics from the University Guelph in 2003 and initially worked for 4 years as a kinesiologist and rehab specialist. He made the decision to return to school to get his Masters in physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University in the United Kingdom.

Kurt has trained in acupuncture and dry needling to help with both acute and chronic soft tissue injuries. As well Kurt has finished several specialized courses on shoulder instability and enjoys returning players to their sport who have experienced severe shoulder trauma or surgery.

As a previous athlete playing Junior hockey in the Ottawa region, Kurt is aware of the stresses and rigor of this type of competitive play. He is able to draw both on his background in rehabilitation as well as his time playing a high level of sport to help guide patient’s physiotherapy rehab programs towards the appropriate goals for both the competitive athlete and the weekend warrior. Debbie studied at the Canadian College of Massage Therapy in Toronto, and at Kine Concept in Ottawa, graduating in 2007. Following further training in England, Debbie began her massage therapy career on the Disney Cruise Lines. Upon returning, she worked at a local spa before opening her own practice at a Kanata fitness and health club in the spring of 2009.

Eric has a diploma in Fitness & Health Promotion at Algonquin College, is currently studying Massage Therapy at Willis College.

He has competed at a high level of hockey, soccer, track and field, and has most recently competed in the sport of Bobsleigh. He has represented Team Canada Bobsleigh at the International stage during the 2021-2022 season. Since he’s been finished with competitive sport, helping people has become a big part of Eric’s day-to-day life.

Eric is also a certified Level 2 Fascia Stretch Therapist (FST). FST is a table-based assisted stretching technique used to not only stretch muscles, but the connective tissue and fascia as well. This technique helps to restore and maintain the overall health of the musculoskeletal and neurological systems. It can be used as a maintenance or rehabilitation treatment and can be paired with almost any other form of physical therapy.

Along with FST, Eric operates a Diagnostic Testing & Training device called KangaTech. With KangaTech, he provides patients the ability to test their strength and to understand what they need to improve on. Eric started off as a patient and athlete on the machine and realized the importance of what the machine has to offer and how useful it is when it comes to improving strength and performance.

Both Fascia Stretch Therapy and the KangaTech are not just beneficial for high level athletes, they both can be used coming off of an injury, preventing injuries, and also getting to the root of discomfort/pain.

BPHYS ED, CAT (C) Gerry obtained his Bachelor of Physical Education at Brock University in St. Catherine’s. He attended Sheridan College in Oakville for Athletic Therapy and became a Certified Athletic Therapist in 1993.

Gerry worked for the Canadian Football League’s Toronto Argonauts for 10 seasons as the Head Athletic Therapist. While in Toronto, Gerry was co-owner of an athletic therapy clinic. Gerry has been with the Ottawa Senators since the 2002-03 season, as their Head Athletic Therapist from 2002-2018. From 2018-present Gerry is now the Director of Sport Medicine for the team.

Mikayla graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of Physical and Health Education at Nipissing University in 2019. She then moved to Sydney, Australia to continue her studies at the University of Sydney where she completed her Master’s of Physiotherapy in 2022.

While working in both Australia and Canada, Mikayla incorporates a mixture of manual therapy and exercise therapy to individualize her treatments and prioritize patient goals. Mikayla has a passion for helping others and seeing people get back to their activities and everyday lives.

Mikayla has experience in helping professional athletes during her time with the Ottawa Senators working as a student therapist while assisting the head therapist and, most recently with the Ottawa Redblacks Football team (CFL). Dr. Walker began his training in rehabilitation therapies at Ontario Tech University where he obtained his B.HSc.(Hon.) in Kinesiology. His studies included research into musculoskeletal injuries and an internship working with professional athletes.

His chiropractic studies took him to New York State where he earned his D.C. at New York Chiropractic College (N.Y.C.C.) . During his doctoral studies he obtained advanced certificates in both Sports Science and Human Performance, and Nutrition, and is skilled in ConnecTX Therapy techniques. He has a certificate from McMaster University in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture and has worked with varsity athletes while in New York, as well as provided ergonomic assessments and advice in an industrial setting for employees.
